Editors of the Yuriyagai

To all readers of The Yuriyagai

The Malacozoological Association of Yamaguchi (MAY) has become the "Society for the Study of Molluscan Diversity" (SMD) from 2009. With this change, the MAY journal, The Yuriyagai will cease publication with Volume 10, numbers 1&2 the final issue. In place of the Yuriyagai a Japanese journal will be published by SMD and we will also jointly publish Molluscan Research (MR) in conjunction with the Malacological Society of Australasia (MSA) as our English language journal. For information about the current MR, see the website.
The title of the Japanese language journal will be Molluscan Diversity (MD). It will include original research papers, Japanese translations of the abstracts of some important papers in MR, news and announcements of the society, information for for amateurs, and so on.
If you are not a member of MSA and if you would like to subscribe both MR and MD through SMD, please join our society. The annual membership fee of SMD will be decided by the end of 2008. To all non-members of MAY who have subscribed to The Yuriyagai, we will announce the membership information again with the publication of MR and MD in 2009. If you are a current member of MSA, you may purchase only MD without joining SMD.
While there will be changes in the membership fee, the new arrangements for journal publishing by our society from 2009 will be an exciting innovation which will greatly benefit members. We greatly appreciate your support as in the past.
